We are looking for candidates with an interest in working on Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments to support projects seeking to respond to today’s environmental challenges. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing landscape architectural support for a range of exciting projects.
The role will include, but not limited to, the following elements:
Undertaking site visits, landscape and visual surveys and photography;
Background data collection and Baseline studies;
Preparation of figures, visuals and presentation materials in a range of mediums.
Preparation of written inputs including LVIA Chapters and associated Technical Appendices;
Collaboration with other environmental disciplines on projects including our in-house team of EIA Co-ordinators;
Attend internal and external meetings.
You will be joining an established and experienced team of landscape practitioners, environmental consultants and graphic technicians. The role provides opportunities for progression and expanding your skill set. Whilst being a key part of a close-knit team, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of multidisciplinary projects in collaboration with environmental consultants and other specialists.
Essential Qualifications / Experience / Skills:
Degree in relevant discipline (e.g. Degree / Masters in Landscape Architecture etc);
Sound written, verbal and graphic communication skills;
Experience of undertaking feasibility, optioneering, and LVIA work;
Basic knowledge of the UK planning system, planning guidance and policy context and landscape planning processes;
Detail oriented and well-organised;
Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and clients;
Enthusiastic, self-motivated with an interest in learning;
Adaptable and able to creatively problem solve; and
Able to work within tight deadlines in a collaborative environment.
Desirable Skills / Experience
Charted Member of the Landscape Institute;
Experience using graphic software (experience using AutoCAD and ArcGIS is an advantage while other graphic software packages are appreciated);
Interest in renewables and grid sectors;
Full clean drivers license preferred as you may need to travel for project work; and
Appreciation of the outdoors is desirable.
